Currently, Stanislaus County and the State of California are experiencing a Pertussis (Whooping Cough) epidemic. Pertussis is very contagious but preventable with a DTaP or Tdap vaccination. Babies, parents, siblings, or any pre-teen, teen or adult who will have close contact with an infant younger than 12 months should be vaccinated against pertussis.
